1. Observe his activities: Pay attention to the child's activities, whether online or in real life. What a child spends time doing, what type of content they engage with, and what topics capture their attention. For example, if he enjoys building with lego; He will probably like books about engineering or construction.
2. Listen to his recommendations: Children often enjoy sharing their favorite books or stories. Ask them what books they have enjoyed in the past or what types of stories they find most interesting.
3. Consider age and reading level: Take into account the child's age and reading skills while considering books. Make sure that the book's complexity and vocabulary match your reading abilities to make the reading experience fun and interesting.
4. Exploring his favorite types of literature: If the child has a specific type of literature that he prefers; Such as fantasy, adventure, mystery, or science fiction, focus on finding books within that genre.
5. Talk to the child: Engage the child in conversations to explore his or her interests. Ask him questions like: “What are your favorite TV series/movies/games?” Or: "What do you like to do in your free time?" This will give us insight into their hobbies, passions, and the type of stories or topics that interest them.
6. Consult librarians or teachers: Librarians and teachers are familiar with children's stories and can recommend valuable books based on the interests of the children they encounter.
7. Search the nominations pages and book summaries: Read reviews of parents and their children about books and their summaries online, or in children’s book catalogs (I find them in book fairs and on the websites of publishing houses). Look for keywords or topics that the child might find interesting.
Always remember that every child is unique, and each child's interests may develop over time.
Tanoon initiative aims to help families and educators raise a reading child.
